This Steffen fly rod is one of the first for me that now has a home near Boston, MA.

All aspects of the blank used for this creation are true to the original design details that became well known in the fly fishing world back in 1980 when Mark & Tim Steffen first began designing and building their fly rods.

Still the original chestnut blank color in the S2 glass material with spigot ferrules that build up

into a great casting fly rod  -  The reel seat is a Lemke LC1 in Dk. Nickel with a piece of Red Coolibah burl

(Australian) as the seat insert - FLOR Grade cork grip 7" long in the Steffen Bros style

(This grip was duplicated from a dimensional drawing sent by the customer from one of his original Steffen rods)

12mm ceramic stripping guide that blends well with the Snake Brand snake guides and tip top  -

Multiple coats of epoxy finish protects all thread work and decal areas.
