SPECIAL NOTE regarding EPIC glass rod blanks
I have received my order from EPIC and all is well. I have three 686 Amber,
two 580 Amber and two 476 Amber. One 476, one 580 and one 686 are currently
being built. The 580 I was building has already been sold but the
476 and 686 will be headed for this website

This rod was a custom build for a gentleman in Templeton, CA
The rod is a Steffen Brothers 8656 glass in the standard chestnut color. The reel seat is a Lemke original Dk. Nickel plated aluminum seat enhanced with a piece of stabilized Spalted Alder and a 1" fighting butt.
The 7" grip is cork in the Full Wells style. Guides are Dk. Nickel Snake Brand snake guides with a blued nickel silver agate stripping guide by Joe Arguello in the "Banded Coffee" color. This 5/6 wt rod also has a ceramic tip top. Thread wraps are in nylon with epoxy coating. The customer also requested an 18" marker on the rod to quickly gauge the fish length.
